According to Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers, in 2024, shrimp exports reach nearly 4 billion USD, an increase of 15% compared to 2023. Provinces such as Soc Trang, Ca Mau, Bac Lieu... are the leading localities, contributing from 800 - 900 million USD to total shrimp export turnover of the whole country in 2024.
Typical shrimp exporting enterprises such as: Soc Trang Seafood Joint Stock Company; Minh Phu Seafood Corporation, Sao Ta Food Corporation, Tai Kim Anh Seafood Processing Corporation, Vietnam Clean Seafood Corporation, etc.
Notably, in 2024, Vietnamese shrimp industry took advantage of recovery in demand and import prices in the US and Chinese markets, so shrimp exports to these two superpowers have made a strong breakthrough.
In addition, shrimp exporting enterprises maintain their position in markets such as Japan, Korea and EU thanks to prestige and quality of their products as well as advantages of value-added processed shrimp products.
On other hand, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) also bring competitive advantages for Vietnamese shrimp products to accelerate into many markets such as UK, Canada, Australia and Singapore.
