Vietnam's exports to UK, France, and Netherlands in 11 months of 2024

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s exports to the UK in 11 months of 2024 increased.

According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's export turnover to the UK market in November of 2024 reached 576.7 million USD, down by 16% compared to the previous month. In the 11 months of 2024, it reached 6.9 billion USD, up by 19.5% over the same period last year.
The leading export item in the 11 months of 2024 was the group of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts, reaching 1.24 billion USD, up by 34.5%, accounting for 17.9% of the export proportion. The next was the group of phones of all kinds and components, reaching more than 1.08 billion USD, down by 15.6%, accounting for 15.6% of the export proportion.
In the 11 months of 2024, some items had a significant increase in export turnover compared to the previous year, such as computers, electronic products and components increased by 118.6%; rubber increased by 71.9%.
In general, in the 11 months of 2024, most of Vietnam's export items to the UK market increased compared to the same period last year.
To be able to take advantage of the opportunities brought about by the Vietnam-UK Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA), Vietnamese enterprises need to ensure that their products and production processes meet UK standards.
Exports to the Netherlands increased in the 11 months of 2024
According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, the export turnover of Vietnamese goods to the Netherlands in the 11 months of 2024 reached 11.8 billion USD, an increase of 27.5% over the same period last year.
Leading the export turnover in the first 11 months of 2024 are the following groups: Computers, electronic products and components, reaching 3.1 billion USD, up 41.8% over the same period last year, accounting for 26.2% of the export proportion. The next is the group of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts, reaching 2.2 billion USD, up by 23.8%, accounting for 19.1% of the proportion. And then the group of footwear of all kinds, reaching 1.5 billion USD, up by 73.5%, accounting for 12.7% of the proportion.
Some items with increased export turnover to the Dutch market in the first 11 months of 2024 compared to the same period last year, such as pepper increased by 79.5%; chemical products increased by 74.9%; coffee increased by 90%.
The Netherlands has been considered a gateway to the EU market, the leading transit point for goods in Europe and the world, for vegetables, tubers and fruits. In particular, EVFTA is bringing many new opportunities for Vietnamese and Dutch businesses.
The EU is a dynamic market. Great cooperation opportunities in the field of vegetable, tubers and fruits trade are concentrated in cooperative relationships with Dutch traders - where import capacity from developing countries has grown quite strongly in recent years.
Exports to France grew in 11 months of 2024
According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's export turnover to France in November of 2024 reached 316.5 million USD, up by 5.3% over the previous month. In the first 11 months of 2024, it reached 3.1 billion USD, up by 7.6% over the same period last year.
In recent years, France has always been one of Vietnam's leading trade partners in the EU.
Footwear of all kinds was the item with the largest export turnover to the French market in the first 11 months of 2024, reaching 518.2 million USD, up by 8.1% over the same period last year, accounting for 16.6% of the export proportion. The next was phones of all kinds and components reaching 497.6 million USD, down by 8.4%, accounting for 15.9% of the proportion.
In the first 11 months of 2024, some export items to France had an increase in export turnover compared to the same period last year, such as computers, electronic products and components increased by 33.3%; handbags, wallets, suitcases, hats and umbrellas increased by 27.5%; coffee increased by 64.2%; pepper increased by 56.2%; rubber increased by 131.1%.
Imported agricultural and food products provide up to 20% of annual domestic consumption in France. Although it was the second largest ocean power in the world, according to data, nearly two-thirds of shrimp and fish consumed in France are imported. At the same time, more than half of vegetables and fruits consumed in France are imported.
In addition to the reason due to the continuous decrease in cultivated area, another important reason is the constant increase in market demand for imported fruit and fruit juices (such as avocado, mango, dragon fruit, etc.).
