Vietnam's goods exports to key markets in Asia in 11 months of 2024

Meanwhile, the country's goods exports to South Korea in 11 months of 2024 reached more than 23.3 billion USD and to Japan reached 22.4 billion USD.
Vietnam's goods exports to the Chinese market in November and 11 months of 2024
According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's goods export turnover to the Chinese market in November of 2024 reached more than 5.02 billion USD, down by 7.6% compared to the previous month, and in the first 11 months of 2024, it reached more than 55.05 billion USD, down by 1.12% compared to the same period last year.
Leading the export turnover in the first 11 months of 2024 was the group of phones of all kinds and components, reaching 13.6 billion USD, down by 10.5% compared to the same period last year, accounting for 24.8% of the proportion. It was followed by the group of computers, electronic products and components, reaching 11.1 billion USD, down by 6.7% compared to the same period last year, accounting for 20.1% of the export proportion. And then fruit and vegetable group with 4.3 billion USD, up by 27.3%, accounting for 7.8% of the proportion.
Many groups of goods exported to China grew in turnover in the first 11 months of 2024
Several commodity groups with export turnover growing in the first 11 months of 2024 compared to the same period last year: seafood increased by 26.3%; chemicals increased by 62.1%; coffee increased by 58.3%; ores and other minerals increased by 49.7%; tea increased by 85.2%.
In 2024, China was still identified as a key export market for agricultural, forestry and fishery products of Vietnam, expected to achieve high growth. In addition to strong products such as vegetables, fruits, and seafood, businesses are focusing on increasing market share of potential products such as rubber, pepper, cassava, etc.
Exports of goods to the South Korean market in November and 11 months of 2024
According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, the export turnover of Vietnamese goods to the South Korean market in November of 2024 reached 2.1 billion USD, down by 7.2% compared to the previous month, and in the first 11 months of 2024, it reached more than 23.3 billion USD, up by 8.6% over the same period last year.
Main groups of goods exported to South Korea in the first 11 months of 2024
The item with the largest export turnover in the first 11 months of 2024 was the group of computers, products and components worth 5.1 billion USD, up by 16.3%, accounting for 21.8% of the proportion. The next was phones of all kinds and components reaching 3.2 billion USD, accounting for 13.9% of the export proportion.
Some groups of export items to South Korea have increased export turnover in 11 months of 2024: coffee increased by 27.3%; fertilizers of all kinds increased by 230.5%; pepper increased by 90.4%.
The potential for trade development between Vietnam and Korea is huge. The bilateral free trade agreement has been contributing to further promoting political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries, further tightening the Vietnam - Korea strategic cooperative partnership.
In addition to the bilateral FTA, Vietnamese enterprises have more options when conducting import and export trade activities with Korea, thanks to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) that took effect last year. Another FTA is the ASEAN - Korea Free Trade Agreement (AKFTA).
Vietnam's goods exports to the Japanese market in November and 11 months of 2024
According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, in November of 2024, Vietnam's goods export turnover to the Japanese market reached more than 2.1 billion USD, down by 2.8% compared to the previous month. In the first 11 months of 2024, it reached 22.4 billion USD, up by 5.2% over the same period last year.
With a population of more than 126 million people, Japan is a market with large import and consumption demand for products: fish and processed fish products, shrimp, eel, meat, meat products, soybeans, cereal products, fresh and processed vegetables, coffee, etc.
Meanwhile, Vietnam is considered a country with strengths in the above-mentioned products and has the ability to supply well to the Japanese market.
Key export groups to Japan in 11 months of 2024
Leading the export turnover in 11 months of 2024 were: textiles and garments reached 3.9 billion USD, up by 6.1% over the same period last year, accounting for 17.5% of the export proportion. The next was means of transport and spare parts reaching 2.7 billion USD, up by 2.1%, accounting for 12.2%; and then the group of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reaching 2.5 billion USD, accounting for 11.3% of the export proportion.
Some items with export turnover growth in the first 11 months of 2024 compared to the same period last year: computers, electronic products and components increased by 38%; coffee increased by 33.3%; fertilizers of all kinds increased by 316.8%; glass and glass products increased by 50.2%.
