 Monday, December 23,2024

AsemconnectVietnam - In 11 months of this year, our country's fruit and vegetable export turnover reached about 6.66 billion USD, up by 28.2% over the same period last year, reaching the target early.

According to the Import and Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in November of 2024, Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports decreased compared to the previous month but still increased by 34.3% over the same period last year.
In the first 11 months of 2024, our country's fruit and vegetable export turnover reached about 6.66 billion USD, up by 28.2% over the same period last year. The target set by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for the fruit and vegetable industry this year for fruit and vegetable export value is 6-6.5 billion USD. Thus, the fruit and vegetable export turnover after 11 months has reached the target early.
The Import and Export Department assessed that the remarkable growth in the output of key fruits, combined with the effective exploitation of the Chinese market, has helped Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports achieve remarkable achievements in recent times.
It is forecasted that fruit and vegetable exports in the last month of the year will face certain challenges due to the decrease in supply of some key fruits. However, the high demand in the world market, especially China, along with trade agreements will be the driving force to support exports.
The data from the General Department of Customs showed that the major contributor to the overall growth rate of the industry in the first 10 months of 2024 was durian, accounting for 49.11% of the total turnover, reaching over 3 billion USD, up by 45.7% over the same period last year. In addition, the export turnover of many other types of fruits and vegetables increased, including: coconut (up by 60.6%); banana (up by 26.8%); mango (up by 43.5%); jackfruit (up by 21.3%); pistachios (up by 40.4%); almonds (up by 58.2%); watermelon (up by 53.7) ... In contrast, the export turnover of dragon fruit and passion fruit decreased by 18.1% and 24.1% respectively.
