AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS - code GAS) and Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation (PV Power - code POW) have just held a signing ceremony to supply LNG for the trial run of Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 power plants.

In order to meet the Government's commitments, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) is making great efforts to participate in the national energy transition process. In particular, two Petrovietnam member units, PV GAS and PV Power, are pioneering in supplying/using imported LNG to produce electricity.
PV Power is currently investing in many large-scale LNG power projects such as Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plants. Along with that, PV Power is also in the process of converting a number of power plants using natural gas to LNG.
With the goal of meeting the Government's commitment at COP 26 to achieve Net Zero by 2050 and completing the Power Plan VIII, PV GAS has been actively implementing positive energy transition steps, proactively turning imported LNG into the main fuel source for gas-fired power plants in Vietnam, gradually replacing the rapidly decreasing natural gas source in the Southeast region (with a reduction of about 1 billion m3 of standard gas per year).
The readiness to supply the equivalent volume of gas to a train of imported LNG, for the first time focusing on serving the Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant Projects, continues to affirm PV GAS's position as a pioneer and key enterprise in the gas sector in general and LNG in particular, the only one with the capacity to meet the increasing demand for clean energy for the socio-economic sector.
The two corporations believe that the first LNG train will provide effective and timely supply for the test run of the power plants on schedule, contributing to supplying electricity to the entire Southeast region in particular, ensuring national energy security in general.
Marking this important event, PV GAS announced its participation in the contest "Naming the baby hippo" of Hanoi Zoo, conveying a positive message about raising and conserving hippos in zoo conditions, building a harmonious environment for humans and animals on the planet.
