According to the latest statistics from the General Department of Customs, by the end of October, computers, electronic products and components continued to be the largest export commodity group of Vietnam with a turnover of 58.67 billion USD, an increase of 26.1% over the same period last year.
Meanwhile, phones and components ranked second with 46.47 billion USD, an increase of 4.9%.
With a total turnover of 105.14 billion USD, the two largest commodity groups accounted for 31.32% of the country's total export turnover.
For many years, computers, electronic products and components; phones and components have maintained their position as the two largest export commodity groups of Vietnam.
Notably, after many years behind phones and components, in recent years computers, electronic products and components have risen to become Vietnam's largest export group.
Both of the above main export groups were dominated by FDI enterprises.
Specifically, 96.68% of the export turnover of computers, electronic products and components came from FDI enterprises.
Meanwhile, this figure for the phone and components industry was up to 99.67%.
The export markets of these groups are diverse, including major economies such as the United States, China, the EU, South Korea, the UAE, etc.
Regarding the country's export activities in general, in 10 months, the total turnover reached 335.633 billion USD, an increase of 14.9% over the same period last year.
