According to the preliminary statistics of the General Department of Customs, fruit and vegetable exports in October reached nearly 520 million USD, down by 43.3% compared to the previous month.
The exports of fruits and vegetables decreased sharply because some key products were out of season or at the end of the season, especially the export items - the group of products with the largest turnover in the fruit and vegetable industry.
Despite a sharp decrease in October, the total export turnover of fruits and vegetables in the first 10 months reached 6.16 billion USD, an increase of 27.8% compared to the previous month.
The above export results are also a record that the fruit and vegetable industry has achieved so far.
Because in 2023, although fruit and vegetable exports had the highest turnover in history, the whole year only reached 5.6 billion USD.
With a turnover of 6.16 billion USD, the fruit and vegetable industry also reached the finish line early compared to the export target for the whole year of 2024 (target from 6 to 6.4 billion USD).
In the past 10 months, China continued to be the largest export market for the fruit and vegetable industry with a turnover of approximately 4.1 billion USD, accounting for 66.52% of the country's turnover.
