Exports aim for new record: Turnover reached 400 billion USD
Thursday, November 14,2024AsemconnectVietnam - By the end of October, Vietnam's export turnover reached 335.633 billion USD, an increase of nearly 44 billion USD compared to the same period last year.
According to the General Department of Customs, in October, the country's export turnover reached 35.63 billion USD, an increase of 4.6% compared to the previous month and an increase of 10.2% compared to the same period last year.
The key export groups with high growth compared to the previous month include: footwear with more than 2 billion USD, an increase of 29.6%; means of transport and spare parts with 1.35 billion USD, an increase of 22.6%; wood and wood products with 1.54 billion USD, an increase of 22.9%.
However, some other important groups of goods had a decrease in turnover or low growth.
These groups of items included computers, electronic products and components with 5.9 billion USD, a decrease of 7.2%; phones and components with 4.59 billion USD, down by 0.7%; machinery, equipment, tools, spare parts with more than 5.2 billion USD, up by 4.7%.
In the agricultural sector, the groups of goods with increased turnover compared to the previous month were seafood, cashew nuts, tea, pepper, cassava and cassava products, etc.; while some items saw decrease in export turnover, such as vegetables, coffee, rice, etc.
In the first 10 months of this year, the country's total export reached 335.633 billion USD, up by 14.9% over the same period last year, equivalent to an additional turnover of nearly 4 billion USD.
With the results achieved in the past 10 months and the recent growth rate, it is likely that Vietnam’s exports in 2024 may reach and exceed the 400 billion USD mark, an important new record in the history of Vietnam's foreign trade.
