Maximizing the potential of digital technology exports
Thursday, October 10,2024AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam currently has more than 45,000 enterprises operating in the information technology sector. By the end of 2023, more than 1,500 Vietnamese digital technology enterprises have exported software, bringing in about 7.5 billion USD.
Vietnam currently has many outstanding digital technology exporting enterprises such as FPT, Rikkeisoft, TMA Solutions, NashTech, KMS Technology, CMC, etc. According to a report by the World Bank (WB), Vietnam's digital technology sector is expected to achieve a high growth rate, possibly up to 20% per year in the coming period.
One of the factors promoting Vietnam's digital technology export potential is the strong transformation of preferential policies on high-tech development, technology startups, creating a favorable environment for businesses to operate.
Currently, the Ministry of Information and Communications is accelerating the development of the draft Law on Digital Technology Industry, including policies to promote digital technology enterprises abroad to create the most favorable conditions for enterprises.
In addition, deep integration into Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) also opens up many opportunities for Vietnamese digital technology products to access international markets, increase added value and competitiveness.
However, to maximize export potential, Vietnamese enterprises still face many challenges. One of the biggest challenges is the issue of product quality due to the uneven level of expertise and skills of the workforce.
In addition, the issue of information security and intellectual property rights is also a major barrier in exporting digital technology products.
Therefore, along with support policies, businesses need to proactively overcome difficulties, invest in research and development (R&D) to improve products, ensuring that they meet the increasingly high demands of the international market.
The application of technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data or the Internet of Things (IoT) will help improve operational efficiency and optimize production processes.
Businesses need to have a clear strategy on protecting intellectual property rights for digital technology products; at the same time, they need to actively participate in international technology fairs, exhibitions and trade promotion programs to expand the market.
