On October 11, Lam Son Sugarcane Joint Stock Company (code LSS) will hold its 2024 - 2025 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (fiscal year 01/07 to 30/06). According to the meeting documents, LSS forecasts that 2024 - 2025 will take place in the context of complex and unpredictable fluctuations in the general market and the sugar industry market, continuing to pose risks and challenges to the Company's growth targets.
Accordingly, LSS aims to produce over 700,000 tons of raw sugarcane, with a 5% increase in sugarcane quality compared to 2023 - 2024; Based on capacity and actual situation, it will balance and calculate the appropriate amount of imported raw sugar for refining.
The target sugar production output of all types is 126,400 tons; consumption output is 115,000 tons. Accordingly, sales revenue is VND2,700 billion and pre-tax profit is estimated at VND145 billion, both slightly increasing compared to the same period.
In addition, the Company plans to pay dividends for 2024 - 2025 at a rate of 10 - 15%. For 2023 - 2024, the Company plans to pay a total dividend of 12%, including 5% in cash and 7% in shares.
Regarding the stock dividend payment plan, the Company plans to issue more than 5.6 million shares, at a rate of 7% (shareholders owning 100 shares will receive 7 new shares). The total issuance value is more than VND56 billion, the capital source for issuance is from undistributed after-tax profits as of June 30, 2024. The issuance time is expected in the first - second quarter of 2025.
Evaluating the business performance in the fiscal year 2023 - 2024, LSS said that domestic sugar prices were favorable; cost items were reduced, while the sugarcane raw material area gradually recovered due to increased sugarcane purchase prices, and import and export activities were promoted.
This helped the total revenue of the enterprise reach more than VND2,692 billion, equal to 149% compared to the same period last year and exceeding the annual plan by 22%. Pre-tax profit reached VND143.76 billion, equal to 362% compared to the same period and exceeding the annual plan by 36%.
