Ladophar (LDP) to want to divest all capital at Angimex (AGM) after the AGM surge
Friday, September 27,2024AsemconnectVietnam - Lam Dong Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (Ladophar - code LDP), an organization related to Mr. Le Tien Thinh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of An Giang Import-Export Joint Stock Company (Angimex - code AGM) has just announced the registration to sell all 183,200 AGM shares, a ratio of 1.006%.
The transaction was conducted from September 26 to October 25 by negotiation and order matching on the stock exchange. Ladophar said the purpose of divestment is to restructure the Company's investments.
Regarding the connection, Mr. Le Tien Thinh is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Angimex, and also a member of the Board of Directors and General Director at Ladophar.
Ladophar registered to divest all capital from Angimex in the context that AGM shares had just experienced a ceiling increase for 8 consecutive sessions from September 10 to September 19, helping the stock increase by 59% to VND4,830/share (closing session on September 19). After that, this stock had 2 consecutive floor-fall sessions due to high profit-taking pressure, closing the session on September 23 at VND4,190.
After receiving a request for explanation from HOSE, Angimex said that the current situation of Vietnam's rice export market is still favorable due to increased demand from traditional customers. However, the uncertain factor that needs to be considered is India's consideration of easing its rice export policy.
In addition, super typhoon Yagi caused severe damage, causing the risk of food shortages, thereby leading to fluctuations in domestic prices. This may have increased investors' expectations for the business.
However, after a hot increase, AGM shares have reversed and hit the floor in the last 2 sessions. Currently, the stock has decreased to 4,190 VND/share in the session on September 23.
In another development, also on September 23, Angimex received the resignation letter of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoa, currently holding the position of Deputy General Director in charge of Finance of the Company - for personal reasons. Angimex will carry out relevant procedures to submit to the Board of Directors to consider and resolve Ms. Hoa's resignation letter according to regulations.
In the first half of 2024, Angimex reported a loss of more than VND98 billion, increasing the accumulated loss up to June 30, 2024 to more than VND264 billion, while reducing equity to a negative level of VND82.3 billion.
