AsemconnectVietnam - The imports and exports of goods through Ho Chi Minh City ports in August of 2024 continued to increase by more than 1.2 billion USD, bringing the total import and export goods in the first 8 months of 2024 to nearly 7 billion USD.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City’s Customs Department, in recent months, the volume of imports and exports of goods through Ho Chi Minh City ports by customs clearance units has continuously increased.
Accordingly, the total import and export turnover in August reached 12.12 billion USD, an increase of 11.23% (an absolute increase of 1.22 billion USD) over the same period of 2023. Of which, the import turnover reached 6.15 billion USD, an increase of 15.95% (an absolute increase of about 845.86 million USD); and the export turnover reached 5.97 billion USD, up by 6.75% (an absolute increase of about 376.95 million USD) compared to the same period of 2023.
From the beginning of 2024 to August 31, 2024, the total import-export turnover of goods reached about 85.07 billion USD, up by 8.91% (an absolute increase of about 6.96 billion USD) compared to the same period of 2023.
In which, import turnover reached 44.41 billion USD, up by 8.63% (an absolute increase of about 3.53 billion USD); and export turnover reached 40.67 billion USD, up by 9.21% (an absolute increase of about 3.43 billion USD) compared to the same period of 2023.
