Cinnamon exports earn 177 million USD in 8 months

According to Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association, in August 2024, Vietnam exported 8,186 tonnes of cinnamon, with a total export turnover of 22.9 million USD, a decrease of 17.1% compared to the previous month.
Leading exporting enterprises in the month included: Prosi Thang Long with 1,173 tonnes, down 10%; Son Ha Spices with 600 tonnes, down 24.1%; Olam Vietnam with 441 tonnes, up 49.5%; Senspice Vietnam with 315 tonnes, up 5.7% and Tuan Minh with 299 tonnes, down 2.6%.
The largest export market was India with 2,464 tonnes, down 23.4% compared to July. Next were the US markets with 1,156 tonnes, up 6.7% and Indonesia with 810 tonnes, down 41.8%.
Thus, by the end of August 2024, Vietnam exported 62,918 tonnes of cinnamon, with a total export turnover of 177 million USD, compared to the same period last year, export volume increased by 1.7% but turnover decreased by 3.5%.
India was the largest export market with 20,722 tonnes, but down 24.0% compared to the same period. Next were the markets: the US with 7,399 tonnes, up 8.0%, Bangladesh with 6,238 tonnes, up 35.2%; Indonesia reached 4,110 tonnes, up 121.4% and UAE reached 1,633 tonnes, up 91.4%.
The leading exporters include: Prosi Thang Long reached 8,833 tonnes, down 14.4% over the same period. Next are enterprises: Gia Vi Son Ha reached 4,186 tonnes, up 36.8%; Tuan Minh reached 2,780 tonnes, up 59.9%; Olam Vietnam reached 2,674 tonnes, up 20.1% and Senspice Vietnam reached 2,615 tonnes, down 30.2%.
