AsemconnectVietnam - On Thursday, robusta coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the country's largest coffee-growing area, rose by 1000 VND to 120,800–121,300VND per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.

Gia Nghia of Dak Nong provided the maximum price of VND121,300/kg, while traders in Lam Dong province offered the lowest price of VND120,800/kg. Robusta coffee increased to 120,800VND per kg in Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha; to 121,200-121,300 VND per kg in Dak Lak; to 121,200-121,300VND per kg in Dak Nong; to 121,200VND per kg in Kon Tum, and to 121,200-121,300VND per kg in Gia Lai.
According to the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (Vicofa), Vietnam exported 1.05 million tons of coffee in the first 8 months of 2024, including 885,000 tons of Robusta and 45,000 tons of Arabica. Export turnover reached nearly 4.04 billion USD, down 12.5% in volume but up 36.4% in turnover compared to the same period in 2023.
The EU's anti-deforestation regulations, which will be implemented from the end of 2024, may affect the supply of coffee to this market, so many importers have increased their reserves in recent times.
A freeze-dried instant coffee factory will be built in the central province of Binh Dinh with an investment of over 2 trillion VND (80.74 million USD), the provincial Investment Promotion Centre has announced.
Funded by Future Enterprises PTE Ltd., the plant will have an annual capacity of 5,400 tonnes of products. It will cover over 7.1 ha in the Becamex Binh Dinh Industrial Park in Van Canh district's Nhon Hoi Economic Zone.
Construction of the plant is expected to begin in March 2025 and be completed in early 2028.
Since the beginning of this year, the province has also attracted 39 other investment projects, with total registered investment capital of more than 4.84 trillion (196.63 million USD), according to the centre.
