Vietnam optimizes e-commerce for sustainable exports
Wednesday, September 4,2024AsemconnectVietnam - According to Ms. Lai Viet Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (under the Ministry of Industry and Trade), optimizing Vietnam's e-commerce potential is a long-term problem.
The orientation of the e-commerce master plan for the next 5 years that the Ministry of Industry and Trade is consulting to submit to the Government is e-commerce towards export to bring "Made in Vietnam" products to the international market and be competitive in that market, especially supporting small and medium enterprises and manufacturers to be able to sell to the global market.
According to Ms. Lai Viet Anh, to develop sustainably, it is necessary to balance all factors participating in the market, from large enterprises, international enterprises, small and medium enterprises, domestic enterprises; at the same time between manufacturers and trading enterprises; between sellers and consumers, etc.
According to the representative of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, e-commerce activities appeared in 2006, from the initial stage, until 2013, there was a fairly comprehensive decree, which was a factor for Vietnam's e-commerce to achieve rapid development as in the past. By 2021, Decree No. 85/2021/ND-CP of the Government amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 52/2013/ND-CP dated May 16, 2013 of the Government on e-commerce was issued, integrating new elements to meet the goal of developing a healthy market. “Currently, we are talking about the story of continuing to perfect the framework of the e-commerce market. In particular, data is not only the vitality of the digital economy and e-commerce, but will also be one of the keys to implementing e-commerce law enforcement in the coming time," Ms. Lai Viet Anh emphasized.
In addition, Ms. Lai Viet Anh believes that the Government's efforts in connecting data between state management agencies and independent entities regulated by law, between the Tax Department, the Customs Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and large e-commerce platforms are inputs to solving many problems of law enforcement, future institutions, consumer protection, and handling of unhealthy behavior in the electronic environment.
