Vietnam - Netherlands trade exchange in first 7 months of 2024

AsemconnectVietnam - According to the statistics figures from the General Department of Customs, bilateral trade between Vietnam and the Netherlands has grown strongly and maintained stable growth in recent times.

The Netherlands is one of Vietnam's important trade partners in the European region.
The trade relationship between Vietnam and the Netherlands is promoted through regional and global cooperation mechanisms. Vietnam and the Netherlands are both participants in the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the EU.
In recent years, bilateral trade between Vietnam and the Netherlands has remained around 11 billion USD, specifically 11.1 billion USD in 2022 and 10.9 billion USD in 2023.
According to the statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in the first 7 months of 2024, trade in goods between Vietnam and the Netherlands reached nearly 7.7 billion USD.
Of which, the value of Vietnamese goods exported to the Netherlands reached nearly 7.3 billion USD and Vietnam's imports from the Netherlands reached nearly 419 million USD.
In the first 7 months of this year, Vietnam achieved a surplus of more than 6.8 billion USD in trade with the Netherlands.
Vietnam's main export items to the Netherlands in the first 7 months of 2024
According to the statistics from the General Department of Customs, in the first 7 months of 2024, the total value of Vietnamese goods exported to the Netherlands reached nearly 7.3 billion USD.
Regarding the structure of Vietnam's main commodity groups exported to the Netherlands in the first 7 months of this year, computers, electronic products and components led with a turnover of nearly 1.77 billion USD, accounting for 32% of Vietnam's total export turnover of goods to the Netherlands and an increase of 40.4% over the same period of 2023.
Ranking second in turnover was the group of other machinery, equipment and spare parts, accounting for 25% of the total value, reaching nearly 1.4 billion USD and an increase of 24.1% over the same period last year. Footwear of all kinds ranked 3rd in the list of Vietnam's export items to the Netherlands in the first 7 months of this year, accounting for 17% of the total value, with a turnover of 919 million USD, an increase of nearly 66.6% over the same period of 2023.
Vietnam's main import items from the Netherlands in the first 7 months of 2024
According to the statistics from the General Department of Customs, in the first 7 months of 2024, Vietnam's import of goods from the Netherlands reached nearly 419 million USD.
Machinery, equipment, and other spare parts topped the list of key commodity groups imported by Vietnam from the Netherlands in the first 7 months of 2024 with a turnover of 80.3 million USD, accounting for 41% of Vietnam's total import value from the Netherlands and an increase of 36% over the same period of 2023.
In particular, in July of 2024, Vietnam's imports of machinery, equipment, and other spare parts from the Netherlands increased sharply by 146.8% compared to June of 2024 and increased by 19.5% over the same period last year, reaching a value of 18.2 million USD. Ranked second in the list of key goods imported by Vietnam from the Netherlands in the first 7 months of 2024 was pharmaceuticals with a value of 44.7 million USD, accounting for 23% of the total value of goods imported by Vietnam from the Netherlands in the first 7 months of 2024 and an increase of 1.59% over the same period last year. The next was the group of car parts and components, accounting for 13% of Vietnam's total import value from the Netherlands in the first 7 months of 2024 and reaching 26.9 million USD, up by 33.1% over the same period of 2023.
Vietnam's imports of chemical products from the Netherlands in the first 7 months of 2024 reached 26 million USD, down by 23.7% over the same period of 2023.
Meanwhile, Vietnam's import of milk and dairy products from the Netherlands in the first 7 months of 2024 increased by 14.2% over the same period last year and reached 19.2 million USD.
