AsemconnectVietnam - Although exports to Cambodia have decreased sharply compared to the same period in 2023, this country is still the largest market for petroleum products of Vietnam.

According to the latest statistics figures from the General Department of Customs, in July of 2024, the whole country exported more than 164,000 tonnes of petroleum of all kinds, with a total turnover of 134.47 million USD, an increase of 33.1% in volume and 35.3% in turnover compared to the previous month.
In the first 7 months, Vietnam exported more than 1.41 million tonnes of petroleum, with a total turnover of nearly 1.18 billion USD, an increase of 9% in volume and 8.9% in turnover compared to the same period last year.
In terms of export markets, the top 3 names were Cambodia, South Korea and China.
Of which, Cambodia was leading with more than 253,000 tonnes, the turnover reached 207.9 million USD, although down by 29.7% in volume and 31% in turnover, this is still Vietnam's largest petroleum export market.
Export results to South Korea reached more than 154,000 tonnes, the turnover reached 139 million USD; to China reached nearly 127,000 tonnes, turnover reached 118 million USD. Both South Korea and China had high double-digit growth results in both volume and turnover compared to the same period last year.
Among the petroleum export markets, Thailand had the highest increase, however, the volume and turnover in this market only accounted for a small proportion.
Specifically, in the first 7 months of this year, the country’s exports of petroleum to Thailand reached 6,741 tonnes, 3.11 times higher than the same period of 2023; while turnover reached 6.23 million USD, 3.15 times higher.
