Viettel Global's (VGI) revenue up 27% in Q2/2024
Wednesday, July 31,2024AsemconnectVietnam - Viettel Global Investment Joint Stock Corporation (Viettel Global - VGI) has just announced its consolidated financial report for the second quarter of 2024. Accordingly, Viettel Global's net revenue increased by 27%, with after-tax profit reaching more than VND1,200 billion.
The report shows that Viettel Global's sales and service revenue reached nearly VND8,700 billion, an increase of 27% compared to the second quarter of 2023, nearly 5 times higher than the world's telecommunications growth rate (6% according to GSMA). Viettel Global recorded 10 consecutive quarters of growth compared to the same period in 2023. This is also the quarter with the highest revenue ever for the Corporation.
In the second quarter, all 9 markets grew strongly, notably Lumitel in Burundi increased by 32%, Unitel in Laos increased by 30%, Movitel in Mozambique increased by 23%, Mytel in Myanmar increased by 21%, Natcom in Haiti increased by 18%, Telemor in East Timor increased by 15%.
E-Wallet companies in particular grew very impressively, such as M_mola (Mozambique) increased by 136%, U-money (Laos) increased by 53%, Halopesa (Tanzania) increased by 35%, Lumicash (Burundi) increased by 25%.
In May 2024, Movitel (Viettel in Mozambique) successfully rose to the No. 1 position in market share, marking the 7th market in which Viettel Global holds the No. 1 position. In 2024, the Corporation aims to maintain a double-digit growth rate, in which traditional telecommunications growth is > 10%, non-telecommunication services grow from 20-30%.
Viettel Global implements a strategy to open up business space in both depth and breadth. In terms of depth, for sustainable and effective development, Viettel Global maintains the No. 1 position and continues to expand new services in the market such as Data Center, Cloud, E-wallet, convenient digital services for the government and people... In terms of breadth, at the invitation of countries, Viettel Global continues to survey new markets to seek investment and business opportunities.
