DAILY: Vietnamese pepper prices rose by 2,000-5,000 VND on July 3, 2024
Wednesday, July 3,2024AsemconnectVietnam - On Wednesday, domestic pepper prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands rose by 2,000-5,000 VND to 152,000-155,000 VND per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association, Brazil had exported 31,846 tons by the end of May, down 8% over the same period. It is expected that the next harvest will be in August in the Espirito Santos region and in November in the Para region. It is estimated that the whole country will collect about 60 thousand more tons.
According to some farmers in the Espirito Santos area, the harvest in 2024 may be 25-30% lower due to heat affecting the growth of cotton plants. It is forecasted that in 2024, cotton output may decrease by 20-25% compared to 2023. The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association quoted experts as saying that signs of supply shortage compared to demand will continue to be recorded in the near future until the end of the season. There are about 2 months left until Brazil's 2024 pepper supply will hit the market. Up to now, supply still depends on Vietnamese businesses. This continues to be the advantage of Vietnamese pepper.
