AsemconnectVietnam - On Wednesday, Robusta coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the country's largest coffee-growing area rose by 1.000 VND to 121,000–122,300VND per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.

Gia Nghia of Dak Nong provided the maximum price of VND122,300/kg, while traders in Lam Dong province offered the lowest price of VND121,000. Robusta coffee increased to121,000VND per kg in Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha; to 121,900-122,000VND per kg in Dak Lak; to 122,200-122,300VND per kg in Dak Nong; to 121,900VND per kg in Kon Tum, and to 121,900-122,000VND per kg in Gia Lai.
According to the General Statistics Office, in June 2024, Vietnam only exported 85,000 tonnes of coffee, equal to 60% of coffee exports in the same period in 2023.
Responding to the press, Mr. Nguyen Nam Hai - Chairman of the Vietnam Coffee Association said that in the first 6 months of the year, Vietnam exported about 900,000 tonnes of coffee, valued at 3.2 billion USD. Compared to the same period in 2023, export output will decrease by 8-9% but turnover will increase by more than 40%.
According to Mr. Nguyen Nam Hai, the cause of the above situation is due to low supply in both Vietnam and other countries. Vietnam's coffee supply is in short supply, while speculators have begun to hoard goods, so coffee prices are expected to continue to rise.
