Wednesday, June 19,2024AsemconnectVietnam - On Wednesday, Robusta coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the country's largest coffee-growing area decreased by 1000 VND to 120,000 –121,200 VND per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.
Gia Nghia of Dak Nong provided the maximum price of VND120,000/kg, while traders in Lam Dong province offered the lowest price of VND119,000. Robusta coffee fell to 119,000 VND per kg in Bao Loc, Di Linh, and Lam Ha; to 119,900 - 120,000VND per kg in Dak Lak; to 120,100-120,200VND per kg in Dak Nong; to 120,000VND per kg in Kon Tum, and 119,900-120,000VND per kg in Gia Lai.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vietnam exported 756,000 tonnes of coffee, earning nearly 2.57 billion USD in the first four months of the year, up 5.4% in volume and 57.9% in value from the same period last year. Binh Dinh may be the intended destination for an instant coffee processing plant valued at $80 million for Singapore’s Indus Coffee, operating under Food Empire Holdings Limited.
Food Empire Holdings is a listed company with a turnover of more than $250 million and is the leader in many countries for coffee and coffee products. The company has set up a manufacturing facility in India to produce beverages, instant coffee, confectionery, and convenience food and its products are sold in more than 60 countries.
According to data from Binh Dinh Department of Planning and Investment, the province has 89 foreign-invested projects valued at over $1.18 billion. Singapore is one of the biggest investors in the locality, with investments totalling more than $163 million.
