Thursday, June 6,2024AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 5 months of 2024, Vietnam's average pepper export price is estimated at 4,308 USD/tonne, up 39.3% over the same period last year.
Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) cited data from General Department of Customs, saying that it is estimated that in May 2024, Vietnam exported 30,000 tonnes of pepper, worth 135 million USD, up 14.4% in volume and 15.9% in value compared to April 2024; up 3.7% in volume and 49.9% in value compared to May 2023.
In the first 5 months of 2024, Vietnam's pepper export are estimated at 113,000 tonnes, worth 487 million USD, down 14.1% in volume, but up 19.7% in value over the same period last year.
It is estimated that in May 2024, Vietnam's average pepper export price reached 4,492 USD/tonne, up 1.3% over April 2024 and up 44.6% over May 2023. In the first 5 months of 2024, Vietnam's average pepper export price is estimated at 4,308 USD/tonne, up 39.3% over the same period last year.
Since the beginning of this year, Vietnam has promoted pepper export to many traditional markets such as the United States, India, Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, Egypt, etc., but reduced exports to the United Arab Emirates. Pepper export to many markets increased sharply in both volume and value. Notably, pepper export to German and Korean markets grew by up to 3 digits.
Also according to Import-Export Department, export of most pepper varieties increased in volume, except for black pepper; in terms of value, all pepper varieties increased. Of which, export rate of ground black pepper, white pepper and ground white pepper recorded double-digit growth in both volume and value.
