Vietnam earned more than 532 million USD from petroleum export

According to preliminary statistic of General Department of Customs, Vietnam's petroleum export in March 2024 decreased by 13.1% in volume and 11.7% in turnover compared to the previous month, reaching 188,808 tonnes, worth 160.1 million USD. Overall, in the first 3 months of 2024, petroleum export reached 631,310 tonnes, worth 532.02 million USD, an increase of 13.9% in volume and an increase of 8.9% in value.
Cambodia is still Vietnam's largest petroleum export market, in the first 3 months of 2024, reaching 119,761 tonnes, worth 100.8 million USD, down 25.2% in volume and down 30.1% in value. Compared to the same period last year, accounting for more than 18% of total export volume and turnover; In March 2024 alone, it reached 30,847 tonnes, worth 25.9 million USD, down 31.7% in volume and 34.4% in value.
The next is Korean market, accounting for 9-10% of total volume and total turnover, reaching 60,946 tonnes with a turnover of 55.5 million USD, up 14.6% in volume and up 4.9% in value; In March 2024 alone, it reached 19,352 tonnes, worth 17.8 million USD.
Petroleum export to Chinese market account for more than 8-9% of total volume and turnover, reaching 55,447 tonnes with a turnover of 52.8 million USD, up 38.1% in volume and up 33.7% in value in the first 3 months of 2024; In March 2024 alone, petroleum export decreased by 8.4% in volume and 7.04% in value.
The next is Laos market, accounting for more than 5% of total volume and total turnover, reaching 35,978 tonnes with a turnover of 29.4 million USD, an increase of 99.6% in volume and an increase of 87.4% in value; In March 2024 alone, it reached 8,510 tonnes with a worth of 6.9 million USD.
Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand are markets with only a small export proportion of less than 6% of total volume and total turnover.
