DAILY: Vietnamese pepper prices decreased by 1000 VND on April 10, 2024
Wednesday, April 10,2024AsemconnectVietnam - On Wednesday, domestic pepper prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands decreased by 1000 VND to VND90,500 - VND92,000 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.
The maximum price for pepper fell to VND92,000 per kg in Dac Lac while in Dong Nai province, the lowest price to VND90,500 per kg. Farmers in Dak Nong sold pepper for VND91,500 per kilogram, in Binh Phuoc province for VND91,500 per kilogram, and in Ba Ria – Vung Tau for 91,500 VND.
The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association said that in the first quarter of 2024, Vietnam exported 56,712 tonnes of pepper of all kinds, worth 235.6 million USD, down 26.1% in volume and 0.1% in value. The average export price of black pepper reached 3,966 USD/tonne, an increase of 562 USD and the export price of white pepper reached 5,552 USD/tonne, an increase of 593 USD compared to the same period in 2023.
Asia is the largest export region, accounting for 37.7% reaching 21,365 tonnes, however compared to the same period, it decreased by 54.3%. India is the largest export market in Asia with 3,793 tonnes, an increase of 19.6% and accounting for 6.7%. Exports to China decreased the most by 95.8% to only 1,083 tonnes compared to 25,919 tonnes in the same period. Exports to the UAE also decreased by 38.6%; Iran decreased by 29.3%, while exports to Korea increased sharply by 179.9% to 2,164 tonnes. The Americas region ranked second, accounting for 29.7%, of which the United States is the largest export market. Vietnamese pepper accounted for 26.8%, reaching 15,185 tonnes, an increase of 27.9% over the same period.
Exports to Europe accounted for 26.3%, an increase of 24.7% over the same period in 2023, of which the largest export to Germany increased by 113.8% to 3,701 tonnes. Exports to the Netherlands increased by 76.9% to 2,598 tonnes. Exports also increased in Russia (25.1%); France (8.0%); Spain (32.3%), Italy (203.6%)… but decreased in the UK (-5.6%); Poland (-21.1%);, Ireland (-75.4%)…
Exports to Africa decreased by 23.1%, of which Egypt decreased by 9.7% to 1,389 tonnes and Senegal decreased by 38.0% to 588 tonnes.
