A spokesperson for Saigon 3 company said that garment exports have improved and the order book is full for until July. "Demand from the U.S. has recovered, and so the company's first quarter revenues were up from the same period in 2023."
Than Duc Viet, CEO of Garco 10, said his company’s revenues rose 15% year-on-year and it has enough orders for until the end of the third quarter.
This year it is expanding its customer base and targets revenues of VND4.5 trillion (US$180.3 million), up 6.6% from 2023, and profits of VND130 billion, a 5.7% increase, he said.
Vietnam targets 44 bln USD of textiles, garments export in 2024
Vietnam's 44 billion U.S. dollars target in textiles and garments export this year is feasible to achieve, Vietnam News Agency cited Vu Duc Giang, chairman of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association as saying on Wednesday.
The statement was made based on the fact that many retail corporations from Free Trade Agreement member countries such as Canada, Australia, Europe have come to Vietnam to find supply chains with competitive prices.
He said the recent increase in orders showed that the textile industry has continuously recovered. However, facing potential market risks, businesses need to seek solutions to maintain growth and stabilize jobs for workers.
According to the association, global manufacturers as well as textile and garment supply chains continue to choose Vietnam as a destination for manufacturing and placing orders.
Vietnam earned over 9.53 billion dollars from exporting textiles and garments in the first quarter of this year, up 9.62 percent year on year, according to the association.
The Southeast Asian country ranks third in the world in terms of textiles and garments exports.
SaigonTex & SaigonFabric 2024 expo to get underway in Ho Chi Minh City
More than 1,000 foreign and local exhibitors are expected to attend the Vietnam Saigon Textile & Garment Industry Expo (SaigonTex & SaigonFabric 2024), which will run from April 10 to April 13 in Ho Chi Minh City.
This year's expo brings together exhibitors from 20 countries and territories, including Belgium, China, Germany, Hong Kong (China), India, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Portugal. Portugal, Singapore, and Switzerland.

The highlight of the expo will be a Product Presentation Program (PPP) which combines static displays and catwalk performances.
The occasion will be organised for the first time as a means of introducing a range of fashionable products, applying the latest technology provided from both Vietnamese and international exhibitors.
Furthermore, there will also be a trade exchange hosted by the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) to strengthen connectivity among exhibitors and buyers.
Within the framework of the exhibition, there are to be a number of seminars held to provide participants with experts’ experiences in policy, the circular economy, and green transition in the garment and textile industry.
