In a recent document sent to the Government, the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association said that Vietnam still ranks top 1 in the world in pepper production and export. However, the area and output of Vietnamese pepper are decreasing. This agency is concerned that the level of competition from rival countries will become increasingly fierce, especially Brazil. Accordingly, this country's pepper production has increased from 80 thousand tonnes in 2018 to 100 thousand tonnes in 2024. The country's exports have reached 80 thousand tonnes of pepper in 2023.
