 Tuesday, March 19,2024

AsemconnectVietnam - On Tuesday, Robusta coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the country's largest coffee-growing area rose by 600 VND to VND93,000 – VND93,800 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.

Gia Nghia of Dak Nong provided the maximum price of VND93,800 /kg, while traders in Lam Dong province offered the lowest price of VND93,000/kg. Robusta coffee rose to VND93,000 per kg in Bao Loc, Di Linh, and Lam Ha; to VND 93,500 per kg - VND93,600 per kg in Dak Lak; to VND 93,700 – VND93,800 in Dak Nong; to VND93,500 per kg in Kon Tum, and to VND93,600 – VND 93,700 per kg in Gia Lai.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) said that Vietnam exported 438,000 tonnes of coffee in the first two months of this year for 1.38 billion USD, a rise of 27.9% in volume and 85% in value over the same period last year.
This year, most farmers have sold all of their 2023 coffee crop for about 60,000 to 70,000 VND/kg, coffee reserves are still very low. Normally, after harvest around March and April every year, people sell all their coffee. Currently, both people and purchasing businesses have run out of sources of goods for export.
This is also the time when coffee growers focus on taking care of coffee so that the new crop will yield high yields and hope to maintain the current record price in the harvest at the end of 2024. Currently, the entire coffee acreage is The province reached over 75 thousand hectares with an output of more than 530 thousand tons.
According to the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association, the price increase is due to an imbalance between supply and demand and record low world coffee inventories, forcing businesses to find ways to purchase and pay contracts. Tensions in the Red Sea also pushed global coffee prices to their peak. However, not all businesses benefit, and even lose orders because of sudden price increases.
