In the first 2 months of this year, textile fiber exports earned more than 666 million USD
Friday, March 15,2024AsemconnectVietnam - According to preliminary statistics from General Department of Customs, Vietnam's export of all kinds of textile fibers in February reached 120,210 tonnes and earned more than 292 million USD, down 25.7% in volume and down 21.9% in value compared to January 2023.
In the first 2 months of this year, Vietnam exported 282,059 tonnes of all kinds of textile fibers, reached a turnover of more than 666.75 million USD, up 26.7% in volume and 18.1% in value over the same period last year.
In terms of market, China is always Vietnam's largest trading partner in this industry. In February 2023, the country exported 56,206 tonmes of fiber to China with a value of more than 144.5 million USD. Accumulated output in the first 2 months of the year reached 129,112 tonnes, equivalent to more than 329 million USD, up 60% in volume and 35% in value compared to the same period last year.
The second is a Korean market. Accumulating in the first 2 months of this year, the country of Kimchi imported 25,637 tonnes of fiber, equivalent to more than 74.1 million USD, an increase of 19.5% in volume and an increase of 4% in value compared to the same period in 2023.
The US is the third largest market for Vietnamese fiber. Summarizing the first 2 months of this year, value of fiber exports to the US reached 30.4 million USD, equivalent to 24,598 tonnes, an increase of 155% in volume and 508% in value compared to the same period last year.
In addition to the above three markets, Vietnam also exports to other large markets such as Indonesia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Cambodia...
Since 2022, Vietnam has surpassed Korea to become the world's 6th largest fiber exporter.
For the whole year of 2023, Vietnam has earned more than 4.3 billion USD from exporting all kinds of textile fibers, equivalent to more than 1.7 million tonnes, an increase of 13.4% in volume but a decrease of 7.6% in value compared to 2022.
