DAILY: Vietnamese coffee prices rose by 900 VND on January 25

 Thursday, January 25,2024

AsemconnectVietnam - On Thursday, Robusta coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the country's largest coffee-growing area rose by 900 VND to VND73,900 – VND74,600 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.

Cư M'gar of Dak Lac provided the maximum price of VND74,500/kg, while traders in Lam Dong province offered the lowest price of VND73,900 /kg. Robusta coffee increased to VND73,900 per kg in Bao Loc, Di Linh, and Lam Ha; to VND74,500 per kg in Dak Lak; to VND74,300 – VND74,400 in Dak Nong; to VND74,400 per kg in Kon Tum, and to VND74,300 – VND74,400 per kg in Gia Lai.
The El Nino weather phenomenon on the Pacific rim has caused supply concerns from countries in the world's largest Robusta producing region. In Southeast Asia, supply is also delayed due to shipping congestion, with farmers storing goods that cannot be sold.
Vietnam's coffee exports have set a new record with a turnover of 4.24 billion USD in 2023. In the first month of 2024, Robusta coffee prices continue to record many new peaks.
In 2022, Vietnam has exported a record amount of coffee while harvest output decreased by 10-15% compared to the previous crop, so the amount of coffee available for export in 2023 was low. Demand for Robusta increased sharply in the context of consumers tightening their spending because of rising interest rates and a gloomy economy, pushing prices up even more.
Following are domestic Robusta coffee prices on January 25, in Vietnam's Central Highlands:
