Textile and garment export markets in 11 months of 2023
Sunday, December 31,2023AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 11 months of 2023, textile and garment export turnover reached 30.43 billion USD, down by 12.3% over the same period of 2022.
According to the preliminary statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, textile and garment exports in November of 2023 increased by 7.2% compared to October of 2023 but decreased by 6% compared to November of 2022, reaching 2.75 billion USD. Overall, for the entire 11 months of 2023, the total turnover reached 30.43 billion USD, down by 12.3% over the same period of 2022.
Vietnam's textile and garment exports to the US always rank first in turnover, reaching nearly 13.17 billion USD, accounting for 43.3% of the country's total textile and garment export turnover, down by 18.3% over the same period of 2022; while the exports to Japan ranked second in turnover, reaching 3.71 billion USD, accounting for 12.2%, an increase of 0.3%; followed by the EU market, reaching nearly 3.46 billion USD, accounting for 11.4%, down 14.3%. The next was the South Korean market with 2.82 billion USD, accounting for 9.3%, down slightly by 7.6% and to China reached 1.01 billion USD, accounting for 3.3%, down by 9.4% over the same period of 2022.
Textile and garment exports to the Southeast Asian market accounted for 5.6%, reaching over 1.7 billion USD, down by 7.7% compared to the first 11 months of 2022.
