Animal feed import markets in 11 months of 2023
Friday, December 29,2023AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 11 months of 2023, Vietnam’s imports of animal feed and raw materials reached over 4.59 billion USD, down by 8.4% over the same period of 2022.
Overall, in the first 11 months of 2023, the country’s imports of this product group reached over 4.59 billion USD, down by 8.4% over the same period of 2022.
Argentina was leading the list of the country’s main animal feed and raw materials import markets, accounting for 27.7% of the country's total import turnover of this product group, reaching over 1.27 billion USD, down by 14.8% over the same period of 2022. In November of 2023 alone, the country’s imports of animal feed and materials from Argentina reached 67.3 million USD, a sharp decrease of 37.7% compared to October of 2023 and a decrease of 56% compared to November of 2022.
Brazilian market ranked second, accounting for 19%, reaching over 876.83 million USD, down by 13.3% over the same period last year. In November of 2023 alone, the country’s imports from this market reached 60.72 million USD, a sharp decrease of 54.3% compared to October of 2023 and a decrease of 29.7% compared to November of 2022.
The next was the US market. In November of 2023, the country’s imports of animal feed and materials from the U.S decreased by 8.3% compared to October of 2023 but increased by 0.2% compared to November of 2022, reaching 63.45 million USD. For the entire 11 months of 2023, the imports from this market increased by 3.5% over the same period in 2022; reaching 667 million USD, accounting for 14.5% of total turnover.
The imports of animal feed and raw materials from the EU market in the first 11 months of 2023 decreased by 49.7% compared to the first 11 months of 2022, reaching 230.88 million USD; while the imports from the Southeast Asian market decreased by 14.2%, reaching 287.14 million USD.
