Fertilizer imports reached nearly 1.28 billion USD in 11 months of 2023
Tuesday, December 26,2023AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 11 months of 2023, Vietnam’s fertilizer imports reached over 3.73 million tonnes, worth of nearly 1.28 billion USD.
According to the preliminary statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, in November of 2023, Vietnam’s fertilizer imports reached 367,389 tonnes, equivalent to 138.93 million USD, the average price was 378.2 USD/tonne, down by 10.8% in volume, down by 1.9% in turnover but up by 9.9% in price compared to October of 2023. In comparison to November of 2022, it increased by 11.1% in volume, but decreased by 14.2% in turnover and decreased by 22.8% in price.
In November of 2023, fertilizer imports from the main market China decreased by 4.9% in volume, but increased by 5.4% in turnover and increased by 10.9% in price compared to October of 2023, reaching 197,770 tonnes, equivalent to 79.35 million USD, the price was at 401.2 USD/tonne. In comparison to November of 2022, it increased by 7.8% in volume, but decreased by 2.7% in turnover and decreased by 9.8% in price. The imports from the Russian market in November of 2023 continued to increase sharply by 438.4% in volume and 577.4% in turnover compared to October of 2023, reaching 32,025 tonnes, equivalent to 14.68 million USD.
In the first 11 months of 2023, the country's imported fertilizer volume reached over 3.73 million tonnes, worth nearly 1.28 billion USD, the average price reached 341.7 USD/tonne, an increase of 20.4% in volume, but down by 12.8% in value and down by 27.5% in price compared to the first 11 months of 2022. China still led the fertilizer supply markets for Vietnam, accounting for 49% of the total volume and 47% of the total country's total fertilizer import turnover, reaching 1.83 million tonnes, equivalent to 600.12 million USD, the average price was 327.7 USD/tonne, up by 15.7% in volume, but down by 9.9% in turnover and down by 22.2% in price compared to the first 11 months of 2022.
The next was the Russian market, accounting for 6.2% of the total volume and 8.5% of the total turnover, with 232,239 tonnes, equivalent to 108.63 million USD, the average price was at 467.7 USD/tonne, up by 7.2% in volume, but down by 30.3% in turnover and down by 34.9% in price compared to the first 11 months of 2022.
Fertilizer imports from the Southeast Asian market reached 435,031 tonnes, equivalent to 155.57 million USD, a sharp increase of 78.4% in volume, an increase of 4% in turnover over the same period last year, accounting for 11.7% of the total volume and accounting for 12.2% of the country's total fertilizer import turnover.
Fertilizer imports from the FTA RCEP market reached 2.71 million tonnes, equivalent to 842.77 million USD, up by 18.4% in volume but down by 9.8% in turnover over the same period last year, accounting for 72.5% of the total volume and accounted for 66% of the country's total fertilizer import turnover.
Fertilizer imports from the FTA CPTTP market reached 428,400 tonnes, equivalent to 70.45 million USD, down by 9% in volume, down by 50.7% in turnover over the same period last year, accounting for 11.5% of the total volume and accounting for 5. 5% of the country's total fertilizer import turnover.
