Exports to China reach more than 55.4 billion USD in 11 months
Tuesday, December 19,2023AsemconnectVietnam - According to the statistics figures from the General Department of Customs, the export turnover of Vietnamese goods to the Chinese market in November of 2023 reached more than 5.8 billion USD, down by 10.4% compared to the previous month.
Overall, in the first 11 months of this year, the country’s exports of goods to China reached 55.4 billion USD, up by 5.2% over the same period last year.
Leading the export turnover in the first 11 months of 2023 was the group of all kinds of phones and components, reaching more than 15.1 billion USD, accounting for 27.2% of the export proportion. The next was the group of computers, electronic products and components reaching 11.9 billion USD, an increase of 11.7%, accounting for 21.4% of the export proportion.
Product groups with export turnover growing in the first 11 months of 2023 compared to the same period last year included vegetables and fruits increased by 149.2%; rice increased by 26.7%; cashew nuts increased by 47.5%; paper and paper products increased by 58%; gasoline increased by 29.5%; coal of all types increased by 97.4%.
China is the main consumer market for many of our country's export industries. Therefore, China's reopening of the market from the beginning of 2023 brought great expectations for businesses and industries, especially vegetables, fruits, seafood, fiber, cement, rubber, steel, and textiles and garments, rice, etc.
Analyzing a number of prospective products, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that with textiles and garments, market demand may recover by the end of the year, so turnover can remain the same as in 2022.
With computers, phones, and components, it is forecast that the demand of the Chinese market may recover, so exports are expected to grow positively.
For seafood products, catfish accounted for over 25% of seafood shipped to China.
