Exports of rattan, bamboo, sedge, and carpet reached 661.8 million USD in 11 months
Friday, December 15,2023AsemconnectVietnam - According to the preliminary statistics figures from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam’s exports of rattan, bamboo, sedge and carpet products in November of 2023 earned more than 65.3 million USD, an increase of 13.8% compared to the previous month.
Overall, in the first 11 months of the year, this group of products earned more than 661.8 million USD for Vietnam, down by 11.9% over the same period of 2022. The decrease compared to 2022 is gradually narrowing each month and shows improvement in exports.
In terms of market, the US was still Vietnam's largest export market. In November of this year, the country’s exports of rattan, bamboo, sedge and carpet to the US earned more than 22.5 million USD, up by 5.4% compared to the previous month and up by 30.3% compared to November of 2022. Overall, in the first 11 months of this year, the country’s exports to the US reached nearly 248 million USD, down by 16.5% over the same period of 2022, accounting for 37.43%.
Ranked 2nd was the Japanese market. In November of this year, the country exported nearly 7 million USD worth of goods to Japan, down by 7.4% compared to November of 2022. Totally in the first 11 months of the year, the country’s total exports of bamboo, rush, and carpet to Japan reached more than 66.2 million USD, down by 10.6% over the same period of 2022, accounting for 10.02%.
India was Vietnam's third largest market in this field, earning nearly 34 million USD in the first 11 months of the year, down by 1.4% over the same period of 2022, accounting for 5.25%. Last month Spain took this position from the UK.
Several markets are actively importing this product from Vietnam with sudden growth in November such as Poland (138%), Denmark (200%), France (101%), etc. Most of them come from the European region, so that environmentally friendly materials, beautiful designs, and versatility help Vietnamese rattan, bamboo, and sedge products be favored by many fastidious countries.
