Vietnam - China trade reached nearly 156 billion USD
Friday, December 15,2023AsemconnectVietnam - By the end of November, Vietnam-China import-export turnover reached nearly 156 billion USD, according to the latest statistics figures from the General Department of Customs.
Specifically, by the end of October, Vietnam's exports to China reached 55.47 billion USD, up by 5.22% over the same period last year (equivalent to an increase in turnover of more than 2.7 billion USD).
By the end of November, there were 12 groups of Vietnamese export products with a turnover of 1 billion USD or more, of which 2 groups reached 10 billion USD or more, including phones of all kinds and components with 15.12 billion USD; computers, electronic products and components reached 11.9 billion USD. In general, Vietnam's goods exported to China are quite diverse, from electronic products to agricultural products.
Notably, there were 3 commodity groups in the agricultural sector with a turnover of billions of USD: wood and wood products; seafood; and vegetables. In particular, fruits and vegetables were the product group with the most impressive growth among our country's key export products.
By the end of November, fruit export turnover reached more than 3.4 billion USD, up by 149% over the same period last year (equivalent to an increase in turnover of more than 2 billion USD).
On the import side, by the end of November, Vietnam’s import value reached 100.3 billion USD, down by nearly 10 billion USD compared to the same period last year.
Most of the major groups of imported goods that were statistically and periodically announced by the Customs agency appear in the Chinese market.
By the end of November, there were 15 product groups from China with a turnover of 1 billion USD or more. Among them, there were two groups of "tens of billions of dollars" goods, including machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts reaching 20.27 billion USD; computers, electronic products and components reached 21.17 billion USD.
Thus, by the end of November, Vietnam - China import and export reached 155.77 billion USD, accounting for 25.1% of the country's total turnover. China continued to be Vietnam's largest trading partner.
