DAILY: Vietnamese pepper prices rose by 500 VND on November 22

AsemconnectVietnam - On Wednesday, domestic pepper prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands rose by 500 VND to VND69,000 to VND72,000 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.vn.

In Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, the maximum price for pepper increased to VND72,000 per kg, while in Gia Lai province, the lowest price at VND69,500 per kg. Farmers in Binh Phuoc pepper for VND72,000 per kilogram, in Dong Nai province for VND69,000 per kilogram, and in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces for VND70,500 per kilogram.
The pepper growing area in Vietnam is about 120 thousand hectares, mainly in the Central Highlands and the Southeast region, with an output of about 190 thousand tonnes.
According to preliminary statistics of the Vietnam Pepper Association (VPA), in October 2023, Vietnam exported 19,193 tonnes of pepper of all kinds, with a total export turnover of 72.7 million USD. Compared to September 2023, pepper export volume increased by 15.4%, turnover increased by 17.3%.
The average export price of black pepper in October 2023 reached 3,664 USD/tonne, white pepper reached 5,211 USD/tonne, down 0.7% for black pepper and up 1.1% for white pepper compared to September 2023.
Binh Phuoc province is one of the localities with a large pepper growing area in the country. Pepper is grown on a large area mainly in districts such as Bu Dop, Loc Ninh, Bu Gia Map, Hon Quan...
According to statistics from Binh Phuoc province, in 2023, the whole province will have about 13,550 hectares of pepper, a decrease of 314 hectares compared with the last year. In 2022, the pepper area will decrease by 1,862 hectares.
To maintain the pepper tree as one of the key crops of Binh Phuoc province, all localities need to have timely support solutions to help pepper growers reduce difficulties and have conditions to maintain pepper gardens that are still growing and developing well.
The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association recently said that for pepper, the Association is confident and capable enough to support the industry to develop even more strongly.
At the end of the most recent trading session, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed Lampung (Indonesia) black pepper price at 4,072 USD/ton, down 0.12%; Brazilian black pepper price ASTA 570 is at 3,000 USD/ton; Kuching (Malaysia) ASTA black pepper price remained at 4,900 USD/ton.
Muntok white pepper price was 6,282 USD/ton, down 0.11%; Malaysian ASTA white pepper price is still at 7,300 USD/ton.
Vietnam black pepper price is trading at 3,500 USD/ton with 500 g/l type, at 3,600 USD/ton of 550 g/l type; White pepper price is at 5,100 USD/ton.
