 Saturday, October 14,2023

AsemconnectVietnam - In October 2023, Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS, code GAS - HOSE) will organize the inauguration and operation of the Thi Vai LNG Terminal chain, after nearly 4 years of construction and completion.

This is also the first LNG complex with the largest scale and most modern in Vietnam with a storage capacity of 1 million tons of LNG/year in phase 1.
The Thi Vai LNG Warehouse project chain is invested by PV GAS, started on October 28, 2019 by the Joint Venture of General Contractors Samsung C&T and PTSC - partners with extensive experience in the field of construction of similar projects in the world made; The project chain is guaranteed to be built with high quality and comply with international standards. Most of the project's materials and equipment are imported from leading countries in the LNG industry.
Thi Vai LNG terminal has now become the most modern project in Vietnam in this field. After nearly 4 years of construction, PV GAS's Thi Vai LNG Terminal project chain was completed and on July 30, 2023, the entire system was tested.
The "heart" of the project chain is the completed LNG Storage Phase 1 with a capacity of 180,000 m3, with a storage capacity of 1 million tons of LNG/year; Phase 2 is expected to increase capacity to 3 million tons of LNG/year. In this series of projects, the pre-stressed concrete tank, with a height of over 38 m and a diameter of 80 m, is considered the most complex item and was constructed for the first time in Vietnam. An important feature of the tank is its ability to withstand the extremely low temperatures of liquefied LNG (-170 degrees Celsius).
The Thi Vai - Phu My gas pipeline has a size of 26 inches and a length of 6.1 km, completed connecting to the pipeline from the end of 2021, used to transport LNG after regasification from the Thi Vai LNG Warehouse for consumers.
Thi Vai Pressure Reduction Station project connected to Thi Vai LNG Terminal will provide regasified LNG at low pressure (25 barg) to customers in Cai Mep Industrial Park, Phu My 3 Industrial Park and other neighboring areas.
The entire process of importing goods, pumping LNG into tanks, regasification, and transportation to customers is monitored and controlled at the Operations Center with modern equipment and optimal monitoring system.
Thi Vai LNG Terminal System has been confirmed to fully meet domestic and international standards and regulations, as well as operational safety requirements. With the operation of Thi Vai LNG Terminal, the entire PV GAS Vung Tau Terminal system is an important infrastructure in supplying regasified gas, ensuring maintenance of gas supply for existing customers and customers. customers, new power plant projects according to the "Master plan for development of Vietnam's gas industry for the period to 2025, orientation to 2035" approved by the Prime Minister.
