DAILY: Vietnamese coffee prices increased by 300 VND on September 19
Tuesday, September 19,2023AsemconnectVietnam - On Tuesday, Robusta coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the country's largest coffee-growing area rose by 300 VND to VND67,500 – VND68,500 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.
Gia Nghia of Dak Nong provided the maximum price of VND68,500/kg, while traders in Lam Dong province offered the lowest price of VND67,500/kg. Robusta coffee increased to VND67,500 in Bao Loc, Di Linh, and Lam Ha; to VND68,200 – VND68,300 per kg in Dak Lak; to VND68,400 - VND68,500 in Dak Nong; to VND67,900 per kg in Kon Tum, and to VND67,800 - VND67,900 per kg in Gia Lai.
According to data from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's export coffee prices increased for the 6th consecutive month, recording a new high in August 2023, reaching a record of 3,054 USD/tonne, an increase of 8% compared to the previous month and increased nearly 30% over the same period last year. The average export price of coffee in 8 months reached 2,463 USD/tonne, up 8.9% over the same period last year.
According to experts, coffee prices are maintaining at a high level, which is good news for farmers and coffee export businesses. However, it is worth mentioning that Vietnam's coffee supply is in a state of scarcity.
In some key provinces in the Central Highlands, the amount of coffee stored by people and some businesses is very small due to crop failure leading to scarce supply, mainly the amount of stored goods for export to contracts signed.
