Exports to Japan reached over 13 billion USD in 7 months of 2023
Thursday, August 24,2023AsemconnectVietnam - According to the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, in July of 2023, Vietnam's export turnover of goods to the Japanese market reached 1.98 billion USD, up by 8.8% over the previous month.
Totally in the first 7 months reached 13 billion USD, down 3.1% over the same period last year.
The leading items in export turnover in the first 7 months of 2023 were textile and garment products with 2.16 billion USD, accounting for 16.5% of the export proportion, up by 5% over the same period last year. It was followed by means of transport and spare parts with 1.61 billion USD, up by 16.2%, accounting for 12.3%; and then the group of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts with 1.58 billion USD, accounting for 12.1% of the export proportion.
A number of items achieved export growth in the first 7 months of 2023, including all kinds of phones and components increased by 16.6%; ores and other minerals by 45.9%; cassava and cassava products increased by 565.2%.
Appreciating the potential of trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Japan, especially related to agricultural products and foodstuffs, according to experts from Japan, Vietnam's agricultural products and foodstuffs today more and more accepted by Japanese consumers.
In order to create a push for Vietnamese agricultural products and foodstuffs to penetrate deeply into the Japanese market, the Vietnam Trade Office in Japan recommends that businesses should not only pay attention at quality and price but also need to actively strengthen and promote strongly enhance the image and brand of Vietnamese goods.
