DAILY: Vietnamese coffee prices increased by 1000 VND on August 8
Tuesday, August 8,2023AsemconnectVietnam - On Tuesday, Robusta coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the country's largest coffee-growing area rose by 1000 VND to VND67,100 – VND68,000 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.
Gia Nghia of Dak Nong provided the maximum price of VND67,000/kg, while traders in Lam Dong province offered the lowest price of VND67,100/kg. Robusta coffee rose to VND67,100/kg in Bao Loc, Di Linh, and Lam Ha; to VND67,700 – VND67,800 per kg in Dak Lak; to VND68,000 in Dak Nong; to VND67,400 per kg in Kon Tum, and to VND67,300 - VND67,400 per kg in Gia Lai.
Coffee exports from Vietnam are estimated to have decreased 6% in the first seven months of 2023 from a year earlier to 1.087 tonnes, equivalent to 18.2 million 60 kg (130 pound) bags, official data showed.
On July 29th, the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association organized an event called "Introducing and Connecting Vietnam's Specialty Coffee" in Da Nang City. The main purpose of this event was to showcase the top 10 coffee products from the Vietnam Amazing Cup 2023 competition.
The event featured three main components: the exhibition and experience of Vietnam's specialty coffee, the cupping session for the top 10 entries of the Vietnam Amazing Cup 2023 competition, and a talk show where entrepreneurs shared their experiences in the specialty coffee business in Da Nang.
During the cupping session, attendees had the opportunity to taste samples of the top 10 Robusta and Arabica coffees from the Vietnam Amazing Cup 2023 competition. A talk show was moderated by Mr. Trinh Tan Vinh, a coffee expert from the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association, and included insights from the pioneering coffee businesses in Da Nang, namely SOUL Coffee and GOLD STAR Coffee.
According to Mr. Trinh Duc Minh, the Chairman of the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association, this event was part of the annual series of coffee-related events and competitions organized by the association. Its main goal was to introduce the best coffee beans to coffee roasters and baristas in the Da Nang market and expand the consumption market for coffee farmers.
The event was accompanied by companies and enterprises that had won awards in the Vietnam Amazing Cup 2023 competition. The winning products were displayed at various booths, each manned by representatives who provided detailed information about the origin, processing, and achievements of the products.
