Animal feed import markets in first 6 months of 2023
Friday, July 28,2023AsemconnectVietnam - In the first six months of 2023, Vietnam’s imports of animal feed and raw materials reached nearly 2.34 billion USD, down by 10.7% compared to the first six months of 2022.
According to the preliminary statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, Vietnam’s imports of animal feed and raw materials to Vietnam in June of 2023 increased by 2.7% compared to May of 2023 but decreased by 29.6% compared to June of 2022, reaching 405.63 million USD. Generally, in the first six months of 2023, the imports of this group of products reached over 2.34 billion USD, down by 10.7% compared to the first six months of 2022.
Argentina was leading the list of the country’s animal feed and raw import markets in the first six months of this year, accounting for 25.4% of the total import turnover of this commodity group of the country, reaching nearly 592.82 million USD, down by 20.9% compared to the first 6 months of 2022. In June of 2023 alone, the country’s imports of animal feed and materials from Argentina reached 113.86 million USD, a sharp increase of 37.5% compared to May of 2023 but decreased by 43% compared to June of 2022.
The second place was the Indian market, accounting for 15%, reaching 352.85 million USD, a sharp increase of 111% compared to the same period of 2022. In June of 2023 alone, the country’s imports of animal feed and materials from this market reached over 16.25 million USD, down by 70.6% compared to May of 2023 and down by 22.5% compared to June of 2022.
The next was the US market. In June of 2023, the country’s imports of animal feed and materials from the U.S increased by 33.7% compared to May of 2023 and increased 39.3% compared to June of 2022, reaching nearly 62.94 million USD. In the whole 6 months of 2023, the country’s imports from this market increased slightly by 6.4% compared to the first 6 months of 2022; reaching 343.83 million USD, accounting for 14.7% of the total turnover.
The imports of animal feed and raw materials from the Southeast Asian market in the first six months of 2023 decreased by 19.7% compared to the first six months of 2022, reaching 155.36 million USD.
