Exports to US reached 44.4 billion USD in first 6 months of 2023
Thursday, July 27,2023AsemconnectVietnam - According to the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, the export turnover of Vietnamese goods to the US market in the first six months of 2023 reached 44.4 billion USD, down by 22.1% over the same period last year.
In the first six months of 2023, leading export turnover was the group of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts, reaching 7.9 billion USD, down by 18%, accounting for 17.8% of the total export proportion. The next was the group of computers, electronic products and components, reaching 7.3 billion USD, down by 0.1%, accounting for 16.5% of the export proportion. And then were textiles and garments, reaching 6.9 billion USD, accounting for 15.6% of the total export proportion.
The items with an increase in export turnover in the first 6 months of 2023 over the same period last year included cameras, camcorders and components increased by 32.4%; coffee increased by 18.7%; and rice increased by 11.7%.
The US is currently leading Vietnam's export markets. Meanwhile, Vietnam has become a major trading partner of the US and an important link in the supply chain of many goods to the US market.
Among Vietnam's exports to the US, agricultural products, aquatic products, furniture, decoration, etc. occupied a very important position because these are the strong commodity groups of Vietnam and the US has great demand.
