DAILY: Vietnamese pepper prices remained unchaged on July 10

AsemconnectVietnam - On Monday, domestic pepper prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands remained unchanged at VND67,500 – VND70,500 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.vn.
In Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, the maximum price for pepper stayed at VND70,500 per kg, while in Gia Lai province, the lowest price at VND67,500 per kg. Farmers in Binh Phuoc sold pepper for VND69,500 per kilogram, in Dong Nai province for VND68,000 per kilogram, and in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces for VND68,500 per kilogram.
In June 2023, the US became the largest export market of Vietnamese pepper. The country imported 4,801 tonnes, down 11.2% compared to May. Exports to China also plummeted 59% to 4,200 tonnes. Top exporters in June include Nedspice 1,986 tonnes, Olam Vietnam 1,622 tonnes, Phuc Sinh 1,560 tonnes…
The average export price of black pepper in the first 6 months of 2023 reached USD3,484/tonne and white pepper reached USD5,011/tonne, down USD879 for black pepper and USD1,070 for white pepper, respectively.
China is Vietnam's largest pepper export market in the first 6 months of 2023, imported 50,369 tonnes, accounting for 32.9% of export market share and increasing by 798% over the same period. In the whole Asia region, exports increased by 60.2% and accounted for 58.3% of export market share.
However, exports to some traditional markets dropped sharply such as India down 41.1%, U.A.E down 29.3%; Pakistan fell 25.9%; South Korea fell 54.2%.
Exports to the US market reached 25,894 tonnes, accounting for 16.9% of export market share and down 14% over the same period last year.
In the European region, exports decreased by 10% to 26,963 tonnes, of which most of the traditional markets decreased such as Germany down 30.4%; Netherlands down 22.3%; Britain fell 12.9%, Ireland fell 66.1%.
However, also in the EU market, exports to some countries increased sharply such as Turkey up 102.2%; France up 31.2%.
Exports to Africa reached 7,843 tonnes, up 17.1%, of which Egypt rose by 51.1% to 2,485 tonnes; followed by Senegal with an increase of 77.4% to 1,763 tonnes.
Top white pepper import markets such as China 2,261 tonnes, the United States 2,002 tonnes, Germany 1,715 tonnes, the Netherlands 1,300 tonnes, Thailand 1,176 tonnes.
