AsemconnectVietnam - On Friday, domestic pepper prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands remained unchanged at VND67,000 – VND70,000 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.vn.

In Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, the maximum price for pepper stayed at VND70,000 per kg, while in Gia Lai province, the lowest price at VND67,000 per kg. Farmers in Binh Phuoc sold pepper for VND69,000 per kilogram, in Dong Nai province for VND67,500 per kilogram, and in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces for VND68,000 per kilogram.
In the first half of 2023, pepper exports increased in volume but decreased in value due to the absence of positive signals from the market.
The Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) quoted statistics from the General Department of Customs as saying that in June 2023, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 25,000 tonnes, valued at US$92 million, down 13.6% in volume, but up 2.0% in value compared to May 2023 but compared to June 2022, up 3.4% in volume, but down 8.2% in value. Generally, in the first six months of 2023, Vietnam's pepper exports are estimated at 156 thousand tonnes, valued at $498 million, up 26.6% in volume, but down 11% in value over the same period last year.
In June 2023, the average export price of Vietnam's pepper was estimated at 3,667 USD/tonne, up 18.1% compared to May 2023, but down 11.3% compared to June 2022.
Generally in the first 6 months of 2023, the average export price of Vietnam's pepper is estimated at 3,184 USD/tonne, down 29.7% over the same period in 2022.
