Fruit and vegetable export markets in first 4 months of 2023
Wednesday, May 31,2023AsemconnectVietnam - According to the preliminary statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, in the first 4 months of 2023, fruit and vegetable exports reached over 1.37 billion USD, up by 16.9% over the same period of 2022.
China was still the main market for Vietnamese vegetables and fruits for export, accounting for 58.7% of the country's total vegetable export turnover. In the first 4 months of 2023, vegetable and fruit exports to this market reached 804.65 million USD, up by 28.6% over the same period of 2022. In April of 2023 alone, the country’s exports to this market reached 229.92 million USD, down by 10.3% compared to March of 2023 but up by 33.3% compared to April of 2022.
Behind the main market of China was the US market with 72.66 million USD, down by 16.5% over the same period of 2022, accounting for 5.3%; South Korea with 65.91 million USD, up by 9.4%, accounting for 4.8%; Japan with 54.34 million USD, up by 8.4%, accounting for 4%; and the Netherlands with 45.46 million USD, a sharp increase of 72.4%, accounting for 3.3%, etc.
