DAILY: Vietnamese pepper prices increased by 1000 VND on April 27
Thursday, April 27,2023AsemconnectVietnam - On Thursday, domestic pepper prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands rose by 1000 VND to VND66,000 – VND69,000 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi,vn.
In Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, the maximum price for pepper increased to VND69,000 per kg, while in Gia Lai province, the lowest price to VND66,500 per kg. Farmers in Binh Phuoc sold pepper for VND68,500 per kilogram, Dong Nai province for VND65,500 per kilogram and in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces for VND67,000 per kilogram.
In the first quarter of 2023, Vietnam's pepper exports reached approximately 76,200 tonnes, worth of 233.45 million USD, down by 6.0% in volume and by 34.3% in value over the same period of 2022. The average export price of Vietnam's pepper reached 3,064 USD/tonne, down by 34.3% over the same period of 2022.
Pepper exports to the US, Germany, Netherlands and UK markets decreased compared to the same period of 2023. In contrast, pepper exports to the United Arab Emirates, Philippines, Turkey, Egypt, etc. increased sharply.
According to the Import-Export Department (under the Ministry of Industry and Trade), it is forecasted that Vietnam's pepper exports will be more active in the second quarter thanks to high demand from China, Papua New Guinea, ASEAN, and Turkey offset the still quiet import demand of the US and EU markets.
