DAILY: Vietnamese pepper prices increased by 500 VND on April 26
Wednesday, April 26,2023AsemconnectVietnam - On Wednesday, domestic pepper prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands rose by 500 VND to VND65,000 – 68,000 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi,vn.
In Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, the maximum price for pepper increased to VND68,000 per kg, while in Gia Lai province, the lowest price at VND65,000 per kg. Farmers in Binh Phuoc sold pepper for VND67,500 per kilogram, Dong Nai province for VND65,500 per kilogram and in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces for VND66,500 per kilogram.
The Vietnam Pepper Association reported Vietnam exported 76,727 tonnes of pepper worth US$235.9 million during the first quarter of the year, up 40.5% in volume but down 7.3% in value year on year.
Vietnam is one of the major spice producers and exporters in the world, of which exports account for about 11% of the global market share last year, according to the International Trade Centre.Of which, the United States, the European Umiom, China, India and Middle East are the leading import markets of some Vietnamese spices such as pepper, cinnamon and star anise.
