Main items exported to Indonesia in first 3 months of 2023
Wednesday, April 19,2023AsemconnectVietnam - According to calculations from statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's goods exports to the Indonesian market in March of 2023 reached 465.9 million USD, up by 15.3% over the previous month.
Generally, in the first three months of 2023, the figure reached 1.23 billion USD, up by 3.8% over the same period last year.
Iron and steel of all kinds led the export turnover to the Indonesian market in March of 2023, reaching 64.7 million USD, up by 46.5% compared to the previous month. The figure of the first 3 months of 2023 reached 136.4 million USD, up by 42.6%, accounting for 11% of the proportion.
The next were textiles and garments with 40.3 million USD, an increase of 8.8% over the previous month. In the 3 months of 2023, the figure reached 103 million USD, down by 5.1%, accounting for 8.3% of the export proportion.
In the first quarter of 2023, a number of items with export turnover increased compared to the same period last year, such as phones of all kinds and components increased by 80.7%; rice increased by 17 times; coffee increased by 209%; chemicals increased by 360.9%; electric wires and cables increased by 105.3%.
Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world, with nearly 85% of the population practicing Islam. The consumption market of Halal products (products "allowed", "legal" for use under Islamic Law) in Indonesia reached 220 billion USD in 2018 and is expected to grow to 330.5 billion USD in 2025. This is a potential market for Vietnamese exporters, especially those that produce quality products and obtain Halal certification.
