DAILY: Vietnamese pepper prices remained unchanged on April 7
Friday, April 7,2023AsemconnectVietnam - On Friday, domestic pepper prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands remained unchanged at VND63,000 – 65,500 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi,vn.
In Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, the maximum price for pepper stayed at VND65,500 per kg, while in Gia Lai province, the lowest price at VND63,000 per kg. Farmers in Binh Phuoc sold pepper for VND65,000 per kilogram, Dong Nai province for VND63,500 per kilogram and in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces for VND64,000 per kilogram.
The pepper harvest in Vietnam has basically ended, with the output not being as expected. In a few months, producing countries such as Brazil and Indonesia will continue to harvest this year's pepper.
Thus, the global supply of pepper will be maintained continuously. However, according to the current reflection, the transactions are moderate and difficult to buy.
According to experts, the reasons for macroeconomics, financial situation, banking, exchange rate are affected partly, but mainly by supply and demand.
Not only Vietnam, this year production is forecast to decrease in both Brazil and Indonesia. As a country in Southeast Asia with Vietnam, since the beginning of the year, export prices of pepper have fluctuated continuously, while companies have reported that it is difficult for them to find sources of goods, because the output is enough to supply demand.
In Brazil, extreme weather from the beginning of the year also affects the growth and development of pepper plants. These two countries are both major exporters of pepper, second only to Vietnam.
Currently, farmers and traders still have the mentality of hoarding goods and waiting for high prices. However, there is a fact reflected during the past time that farmers have lost their crops and pepper prices have been VND20,000 - 25,000 lower than the previous crop while costs have increased.
