DAILY: Vietnamese coffee prices increased by 1000 VND on March 31
Friday, March 31,2023AsemconnectVietnam - On Friday, Robusta coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the country's largest coffee-growing area rose by 1000 VND to VND48,600 – 49,000 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.com.
Cư M'gar of Dak Lak provided the maximum price of VND49,000/kg, while traders in Lam Dong province offered the lowest price of VND48,600 /kg. Robusta coffee decreased to VND48,600 per kg in Bao Loc, Di Linh, and Lam Ha; to VND48,900- 49,000 per kg in Dak Lak; to VND48,800-48,900 per kg in Dak Nong; to VND48,900 per kg in Kon Tum, and to VND48,800-48,900 per kg in Gia Lai.
Coffee supplies tightened in Vietnam this week as farmers who had already sold most of their stocks refrained from releasing the remaining beans, traders said on Thursday. Traders in Vietnam offered 5% black and broken-grade 2 robusta at a premium range of $20-$30 per tonne to the July contract. Traders offered a $10-$20 discount range last week to the May contract.
Coffee exports from Vietnam are estimated to have decreased 1.6% in the first quarter of 2023 from a year earlier to 572,000 tonnes, equivalent to 9.5 million 60-kg (130-pound) bags, the General Statistics Office said on Wednesday.
Coffee export revenue for Vietnam, the world's biggest producer of the robusta bean, fell 2.3% to $1.3 billion in the January-March period, the agency said.
The country's coffee shipments in March are estimated at 230,000 tonnes, valued at $522 million.
